Day 4

We attempted to wake up at a reasonable time to start are day after a great late night. So naturally around noon. Like the rest of Europe everything is closed on Sundays including all grocery stores. The only thing we found open was at the train station. We all bought loafs of delicious bread and some fancy cheeses not knowing much else about them.  Tickets purchased we headed to Schaffhausen, a city about 45 minutes outside of Zurich. We didn't know much about it but people said it was a great place to go... so we did. On the train there we dug into our cheese and bread combos. First mistake, we sat in first class on the train and the polite attendant notified us of this mistake and asked us to move. At this point the train was already moving and most of the seats elsewhere that had multiple together had been taken. After walking through many cars we finally found some together. Again we dug back into the cheeses. Second mistake, this was the most smelly cheese I have ever encountered. It not only repulsed all of us but began wafting through the whole cabin. Linnies was by far the worst. Mine came in second and Michaels third.

Schaffhausen is a quant little town strait out of the Renaissance. Resting on the hill was a fortress, The Munot. It is a circular 16th century fortification surrounded by vineyards. It now serves as the city's symbol. The castle had beautiful views of the surrounding village and provided a great place to take pictures. We then grabbed a cappuccino and grabbed a local train out of the city 15 minutes to the beautiful Rheinfall, Europe's largest plain waterfall. Rushing water and spectacular views the waterfall lived up to all its hype. That evening when we returned we called it an "early" evening in preparation for Munich the next day.
