Here is a link to the university website where we will be studying, yes studying is part of the trip though no guarantees where that priority lies. UOI was founded in 1964 hosting just under 14,000 student, it has remained highly ranked amongst universities in Greece on the grounds of teaching and research. The university has an extensive formal exchange program, mainly with Europe, where students can come spend a semester or even a year expanding their horizons. Universities in countries from France to Belgium to Lithuania to Ireland partake in sending students though this program each year. While here in Ioannina we will be living in the international dormitories, or guesthouses, with the other international students. Living not only in another countries but doing so with students from around the world will be an enlightening experience!

Check this out!!
Found this website while I was doing research on Ioannina. It provides new photos daily of the city and is a cool way to receive a more realistic view of where I will be staying for 10 weeks! I hope I can take as cool pictures as these!!

Jet setting!!
Lindsay and I have finally booked our fights!!!!! Leaving early out of LAX Sunday, March 18 we will spend over a day in the air. Flying first to Chicago then Frankfurt finally to arrive monday in Istanbul, Turkey!! We thought long and hard on where to spend our spring break, choices such as Sweden and Barcelona came up, but Istanbul was the final decision. Nestled in the northwest portion of Turkey connecting the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara, Istanbul had a long history of empire occupation that contributes to the city today. We are staying with Lindsay's fathers friends mother's cousins lawyers dog walker who has willingly put us up for the week. Armed with maps and an adventurous mindset its bound to be an adventure. We will fly then to Athens at the end of the week to meet up with our group and program director, Taso. This will be the beginning of our Greek Adventure!!
